Handwritten list of 200 funerals attended by the Rev. Dr. William Jenks from 20 Oct 1825 to 15 Nov 1827. List includes name, age at death, and place of death. The list of funerals was written on the verso of a broadside for "Order of services at the funeral of his late excellency William Eustis, Esq. at the Old South Church, on Friday, February 11th 1825". Rev. Jenks, as Chaplain of the House, gave the prayer at funeral for Gov. Eustis.

William Jenks was born in Newton, Massachusetts on November 25, 1778. He received an A.B. from Harvard College in 1797, an A.M. in 1800 and an S.T.D. in 1842. He also received two degrees from Bowdoin College: an S.T.D. in 1825 and an L.L.D. in 1862. Jenks served as pastor of churches in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Bath, Maine before joining the faculty of Bowdoin College as professor of Oriental and English literature.
